Q CELLS, a total energy solutions provider worldwide, was selected as the ‘Global Best Company’ for the third year in a row at the Korea Consumer Awards organized by the Korea Consumer Agency.
Q CELLS on the 1st of September won the ‘Global Best Company’ award for the third consecutive year at the ‘2020 Korea Consumer Wards’ hosted by the Korea Consumer Agency. The Korea Consumer Awards recognize businesses and individuals that promote the rights and interests of consumers, and increase competitiveness, credibility and public interest. Q CELLS won this award for providing highly reliable products to consumers based on rigorous quality management and for demonstrating outstanding achievements in exports.
Q CELLS, based on its Q.ANTUM technology that delivers high-end performance and reliability, is leading the global PV market, widening the technological gap against competitors around the world. Of particular note, by improving product reliability and customer satisfaction levels through rigorous quality tests, which are over 2-3 times stricter than the IEC standards, Q CELLS was rated as a Top Performer for the fifth consecutive year in the 2020 PV Module Reliability Scorecard, published by global PV testing lab DNV GL1 in partnership with PVEL2.
In addition, it was awarded the “Top Brand PV” seal for the 7th year in a row by leading research institute EuPD Research, which evaluates solar power companies’ brand awareness and market penetration.
With these efforts, Q CELLS has been recognized as one of the best brands among major PV consumers. In August this year, it received the Highest Reputation Award in the electrical industry category, in a survey commissioned by Focus Money, a leading business magazine published in Germany, earning the highest rating, 100 points. This award is one of the most credible brand awards that evaluate online reputation in Germany. For the award, 15.7 million mentions in digital media content of more than 5,000 brands in 270 industries were evaluated by IMWF3 for brand reputation.
Q CELLS in April received the top prize in PV modules at the Life & Living Awards 2020 presented by n-tv, a German news channel and DISQ4 (Deutsches Institut für Service-Qualität). In the solar technology category, 11 well-known solar brands were evaluated on consumers’ overall satisfaction, willingness to recommend, and likelihood of purchasing that brand again. Q CELLS received the highest scores in overall consumer satisfaction and likelihood of consumers purchasing again, earning the top prize.
Hee Cheul (Charles) Kim, CEO of Q CELLS, said, “Q CELLS, by introducing technological innovation and reflecting clients’ requirements, is now a high-end brand in major PV markets. It will continue to penetrate the major markets with marketing strategies tailored to the trends and consumer characteristics of each market.”
Meanwhile, Q CELLS has recorded a large volume of shipments in leading energy markets, including the U.S. and Europe. In particular, it secured the number 1 market share in both the U.S. residential and commercial segments, demonstrating a strong brand reputation. In addition, Q CELLS won six (315 MW) bids on twelve available lots in Portugal’s Alentejo and Algarve regions where a total of 700 MW5 solar capacity was tendered. In this tender project, launched in a format that combines PV and energy storage for the first time in Portugal, electricity that is equivalent to the annual average electricity consumption of 540,000 households will be produced.
